Assiniboia Downs (ASD) has an eight-race card scheduled for Tuesday (July 16) evening and it kicks off at 7:35 p.m. CDT. The Jackpot Pick 5 wager starts in the fourth race and runs through to the end of the card while the $1 Pick 4 with a $50,000 guaranteed pool starts in the fifth race. The final two races will both feature a $1 Classic Hi-5 wager as well.

A pair of $50,000 stake races are on the Tuesday evening card. First up in the sixth is the R.J. Speers Memorial which is open to three-year-olds and older who are non-winners of $14,800 once other than maiden, claiming, restricted or starter in 2024. The filed of 12 will go a distance of 7 1/2 furlongs.
Three-year-old and older fillies with the same condition have their chance in the seventh. A field of 10 will also go 7 1/2 furlongs for the Canada Stakes.
Longshot Watch
A potential longshot to watch our for is Ayy Ladies in the third race. The four-year-old filly opens at 5/1 morning line odds and is coming off back-to-back second place finishes. Her two prior starts were her debuting races at ASD. Ayy Ladies made one other start this year which was at Turf Paradise in Arizona and she finished fifth. She spent her 2023 year all over making starts at Mahoning Valley Race Course and Belterra Park. She also picked up all three of her wins last year at Mountaineer Park. All of her races last year came at a mile distance but she clearly has shown she can finish near the top in the shorter distance races at ASD.
