The schedule for 2023 has now been released after the opening day games having been released on Friday. With this fans can start looking forward to home games and planning away game trips. With the schedule now out we can look forward to some significant games for each team, local rivalries, revenge matches, and with the addition of Vancouver FC some potential new rivalries emerging.
This season each time will play twenty-eight matches in the regular season. With fourteen home games and fourteen away games. Each team will play the other a total of four times, two away and two at home.
HFX Wanderer’s

Halifax Wanderers start their season away in Ottawa, and then away at Forge. Their first home match coming on April 29th against the new team on the block Vancouver FC. Their last home game comes on September 30 against CPL powerhouse Forge. Their longest home game stand is 2 games long, while their longest away stretch is two games.
Atletico Ottawa

Atletico Ottawa starts the season at home where they face off against HFX Wanderers. The first big rival match for Ottawa comes on April 29th where they face York at home. Matches against York were always a cagey affair, if often one-sided (in favour of Ottawa). Ottawa’s first match against the new kids on the block Vancouver FC comes on May 13, when they take the trip out to the suburbs of Vancouver to play. The first rematch of the 2022 CPL Final comes on May 27th when Forge visits Ottawa. This is a game to circle on your calendar. Ottawa’s last home game is on September 24th where they play Valour at home. While their last game of the regular season is on October 7th where they play Forge away, which will surely have playoff-seeding implications. Their longest home game stand is two games long, while their longest away stretch is two games.
Forge

Forge starts off the season with a two-game home stretch against Cavalry on opening weekend and then against HFX Wanderers on April 22. Forge vs Cavalry is always a good match and is the original CPL rivalry which makes for a great and very young historical match. The first 905 Derby comes on May 5th when Forge visits York Lions Stadium. The first rematch of the 2022 CPL Final comes on May 27th when Forge visits Ottawa. This is a game to circle on your calendar, even for the neutral fan. Forge ends the season at home to Ottawa on October 7th which will surely have playoff-seeding implications. Their longest home game stand is two games long, while their longest away stretch is two games.
York United

York starts off the season with two home games, first against Valour on opening weekend, and then to the new team, Vancouver FC on April 22. The first big rival match for York comes on April 29th where they face Ottawa away. Then the following weekend we get the first 905 Derby of the season when Forge comes to visit. Valour

Valour starts the season away a York, but then the following weekend gets to enjoy hosting Ottawa at home. The first battle of the Prairies happens on April 30th when Valour travels to Calgary. Valour gets to end the season at home when they host HFX Wanderers on October 6th. Their longest home game stand is two games long, while their longest away stretch is three games.
Cavalry

Cavalry starts off the season with a two-game road trip, first away to Forge for a great rivalry game, and then away to Pacific on April 23rd. Their first home game comes the following weekend on April 30th when they face Valour for the first battle of the Prairies. Their first game against the new team Vancouver FC comes away to Vancouver on May 7th. Cavalry then ends the season with a two-game home stretch hosting both Valour and Pacific. Their longest home game stand is two games long, while their longest away stretch is three games.
Vancouver

The new kids on the block start their season with a stretch of three away games while they wait for their stadium to finish being built. The first game they play is on April 14th away to Pacific for the battle of the West coast. Matches between these two teams will be good ones and start a great rivalry for this young league. The first game Vancouver hosts are not until May 7th when they host Cavalary in what will be a historical game for the new team, in hopefully a sold-out stadium. Vancouver ends the season at home where they host York on October 6th. Vancouvers longest home game stand is two games long, while their longest away stretch is three games.
Pacific

The first game Pacific plays is on April 14th at home to Vancouver for the battle of the West coast. Pacific start the season with a three-game home stretch where they host Vancouver, Cavalry and Forge until their first away day on May 6th when they travel to the nation’s capital to play Atletico Ottawa. Pacific ends the season on the road to Cavalry on October 7th which will surely have playoff implications. Pacific’s longest home game stand is four games long, while their longest away stretch is three games.
