Tom Lizardo cut his teeth on the CFL when Peter Della Riva, Tony Gabriel and Larry Highbaugh were elite active players. Growing up in Niagara Falls, New York he was coached by Orlando Mazza, brother of former Ticat standout Vince Mazza. His youth football team played cross-border scrimmages against teams from the Niagara region and his schoolyard games were often 3Down and included the rouge.
