The hardest thing about giving a full week of picks is often that we don’t have depth chart information for, for example, Friday/Saturday games. But, in order to be sure recommended plays come under the salary caps, I think the best thing to do is make full suggestions and remind everyone to check depth charts as lineups don’t lock until each game’s kickoff.
Redblacks Vs. Elks Draftkings Showdown
What do you think about a game that has so much inconsistency multiplied by quarterback uncertainty? I start with making the safest play in hopes of cashing, anything beyond that is gravy.
Going for the safe play, I start both Defences and James Wilder. Then I add one player from each team. With the Redblacks I’m either going to add Timothy Flanders or, if I gain some confidence in the passing attack, I will go with DeVonte Dedmon. For the Elks, it might be Mike Jones, who has been steady, with flashes of brilliance. But, I could fade Jones in favour of Derel Walker. Walker is bound to break out at some point, the question is if that will happen before Trevor Harris returns.
There is also a counter-play where you can fade one or both Defence and pick up one or both starting QBs. This could be a very productive play as low QB ownership is likely, due to few having full confidence in the passing games. This play is high-risk though and depends on backup pivots leading their teams to more than a couple majors while limiting sacks and turnovers. It’s also possible that if the starting pivot on either side or both, struggles early they will finish the game watching from the sidelines.
Total CFL Pick ‘Em
For, perhaps, the first time ever, I am going straight road teams. I’m taking Edmonton to even the season series with Ottawa. I like the Riders to continue their winning ways over the Stamps and I think the Bombers have enough to upend the Lions in BC. Hamilton’s injuries also help me fly with the Als this week.
CFL Fantasy
QB. David Watford, RB. Sean Thomas-Erlington, RB. Timothy Flanders, WR. Jevon Cottoy, WR. Lucky Whitehead, FLEX. Steven Dunbar, DST. BC Lions.
Draftkings 3-game Classic Mode.
QB. Zach Collaros or Michael Reilly, RB. William Stanback, Flex. Andrew Harris, Flex. Luther Hakunavanhu, DST. Roughriders .
This leaves my two WRs and I’ve narrowed it down to Kamar Jorden, Jake Wieneke, Nic Demski, Lucky Whitehead and Steven Dunbar.
It’s not that I don’t like the Riders passing game, I do. The problem is they spread it around so well that Moore, Schaffer-Baker, and Lenius or Picton could all cut into one another’s production.
I do sometimes make plays and play lineups other than those I recommend.
