St. Amant Vs. East Ascension was exactly what you would expect from this matchup. Cole Poirrier scored the only touchdown of the game. It was barely enough for the Gators to get past the Spartans but it did the job. It was a close game until the end with the Gators coming out with the 10-6 win. Walter Samuel led EA with 88 yards rushing. The rivalry traditionally features big plays and game-changing turnovers.
Dutchtown vs Catholic proved that Catholic still was a powerhouse besides taking an upset loss last week. They dominated Dutchtown leaving the game with a final score of 49-7.
Mckinley showed us why they need to leave 5A football for yet another week. They let Woodlawn score 62 unanswered points against them. But on the bright side, Mckinley is leaving 5A next year and dropping down to 4A.
Now that the regular season has concluded every team in District 5-5A made it to the playoffs except McKinley.
