The offseason and ranking lists, a glorious combination! Everybody loves uniform rankings, right? Today it’s the away uniforms will be focusing on, purely just away uniforms, so no alternative/third uniforms this time, so be prepared to get familiar with the colour white.
9. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Quick disclaimer here, I didn’t get into fashion school so if I’m just gonna call these how I see them purely with the eye test. The Riders home jersey is iconic, the away jersey to me just seems boring. There’s some green on the sides and socks but it just seems too plain and white overall, it just has a generic video game feel to it.
8. Ottawa Redblacks
I really don’t like the “RNation” on the sides, it feels gimmicky but the plaid is a nice touch. I don’t hate this uniform. My rationale for placing it here is that it’s very familiar to the Calgary Stampeders away uniform, if there was a little more creativity to it, perhaps committing to a plaid and white look and having less red then it would definitely be ranked higher!
7. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Much like the Riders, the Bombers home jersey is iconic and is actually one of my favourite uniforms in all of football. The blue and gold go together perfectly on the home uniform, but the problem here is that the white jerseys just don’t work anywhere near as well with the pants. What is working in its favour though is that it’s a bonafide classic thanks to Winnipeg wearing it in back-to-back Grey Cup wins against Hamilton in 2019 and 2021.
6. Edmonton Elks
Green, gold and white is a great colour scheme in football, and this is far from the worst uniform in the CFL. My reasoning for placing it here is mostly down to the strength of the uniforms ahead of it, I also would’ve liked to have seen them be a bit bolder with the design to tie into their rebranding last summer.
5. Montreal Alouettes
The Als have a colourful history when it comes to uniforms, and their latest away uniform simultaneously combines a lot of colour with a simple design. The red socks and dark blue pants perfectly compliment the white jersey as the contrast works really well. Meanwhile, the red on the sleeves helps to bring some vibrance to the white jersey just as it does for the home jersey.
4. Calgary Stampeders
The Calgary Stampeders uniform works well for me thanks to a strong use of the colour red, which is synonymous with Calgary sports teams. The black socks and red pants go really well together and the white jersey is complemented with red and black sleeves and a black neckline, making this one of the least white-dominated away uniforms in the league.
3. Toronto Argonauts
Sometimes simple is better, I understand I might not be consistent with that but there’s just something about the different shades of blue alongside the white that works really well. The light blue socks go great with the dark blue pants alongside the light stripe down the sides. The jersey is almost entirely white and the blue numbers on the jersey stand out perfectly. Slap “Toronto” across the front and it looks very sharp.
2. BC Lions
Just like Calgary, this uniform is very colourful. The Lions have one of the most unique colour schemes in the league with their use of orange, black and white which is reflected in their away uniform. They do rotate the pants between black pants and orange pants and I think the black pants and white socks go best together, the orange and white stripe on the pants is also a sharp look. The orange sleeves also go really well with the white jersey, and to top it all the ”British Columbia” across the front looks really good.
1. Hamilton-Tiger-Cats
The Ti-Cats round of this list with a uniform dominated by black and white. The all-black socks and pants are an intimidating design and it perfectly contrasts the white jerseys and makes them stand out. The subtle nod to the home jersey with the black and gold striped sleeves go really well with the jersey and with the iconic black helmet it just perfects a look that at its core, is a simple design but its simplicity is executed to perfection, especially when a player wheres a long sleeve black shirt underneath it.

Away uniforms are not as important as media being so negative but name certain players consistent?. Plus who ever heard of getting a point if you most a field goal?
